Qualifications

• Completion of Health Unit Coordinator Training Program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical duties to support patient care activities and maintains patient charts.
• Processes admissions, transfers, discharges, tests, medications, and appointments; informs team members of orders and reports.
• Answers telephones and coordinates communication between patients, staff and the nursing team.
• Prepares reports and letters using computer programs; tracks documents and reference materials.
• Greets visitors and assists staff; manages paging devices and call systems as needed.
• Maintains clean and organized work areas and ensures equipment and boards are up to date.
