Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston is seeking a Supplemental Unit Clerk to provide clerical support on a patient care unit, including chart preparation, forms and menu requests, admissions and discharges, and receptionist duties. This role requires strong customer service, knowledge of medical terminology, and clear communication with staff and families.

Monday–Friday shifts with flexibility; assist with unit operations and patient flow across departments.

Qualifications

• One year of public contact/customer service experience.
• Clerical duties using a personal computer; filing, forms completion, and record-keeping; knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instruction and communicate clearly with hospital staff by face-to-face and telephone.
• Strong command of the English language and good written communication.
• Strong organizational abilities and customer service skills with medical terminology knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Supports non-clinical and ancillary services on assigned patient care units.
• Greets visitors, answers telephones, relays messages to appropriate personnel.
• Distributes daily schedules and maintains census reports.
• Assembles/disassembles patient records and admits packs; checks charts for completion.
• Responds to patient, physician, and staff needs; manages patient call light process.
• Ensures patient flow by admitting/transferring/discharging in computer system and coordinating transportation.
• Schedules tests, delivers specimens, posts results, and assists with patient meals and indirect care.
• Prepares, fills, and reconciles supply orders; enters charges for services and supplies.
• Maintains safety and adheres to policies; supports professional growth and service standards.
• Demonstrates compassionate, personalized experiences for patients and colleagues.
