Qualifications

• HS/GED or higher required.
• Less than 1 year hospital setting and patient transport experience.
• BLS certification required.
• On-the-job training and competency verification provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain departmental policies and expectations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare team members.
• Transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers and beds.
• Gather monitors and essential equipment for transport.
• Ensure equipment availability and report malfunctions to Maintenance.
• Deliver specimens and transport X-ray equipment as needed.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation during transport.
• Maintain confidentiality of health information.
• Participate in required trainings and meetings.
• Work as part of a physically demanding team.
