Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Yawkey 6 IMCU Critical Care unit. The role supports RNs with direct patient care, maintains patient comfort, and helps with daily activities in a high-acuity environment.
Responsibilities include vital signs, hygiene assistance, and environmental upkeep to ensure safety and quality outcomes. Evening/night shifts with every-other-weekend schedule are typical. BLS/CPR required and prior acute care experience preferred.

Schedule: 24 Hours (Nights/Every Other Weekend)
BMC's Medical Step Down unit is a 38-bed unit providing care for intermediate level medical patients. Patients on this unit are complex cardiology and medical patients, pericardial drains patients, TAVR patients, ventilated patients and patients transferred out of the MICU, from floors and ED requiring increased levels of care.
As a Patient Care Technician in our Critical Care department, you will be a key member of the healthcare team at BMC. Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice, our Patient Care Technicians provide direct clinical and support services. Using our patient-centered care model and uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, you will participate in the delivery of care to our patients and their families. You will also work cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide a variety of support services to meet patient, family, and staff needs.
