Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• One year experience as a patient care tech (or similar title) in a hospital.
• Hospital experience may be substituted with two years patient care assisting experience in other health care facilities or one year as a medical technician or hospital corpsman in the U.S. Armed Forces.
• Current enrollment in clinical portion of a nursing program or completion of PCT, CNA or Medical Assistant program eliminates experience requirements.
• Current AHA-BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the supervision of the Staff Nurse, including ADLs, specimen collection, patient transport, and vital signs.
• Performs unit procedures and tasks with documented competencies; participates as a team member to ensure resources for internal and external customers.
