Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking an EKG technician to support ECG procedures across departments. You will identify patients, obtain history, perform STAT and routine requests, and assist with Holter monitor applications and data preparation for reading.

The role requires patient privacy, calm handling of anxious or pediatric patients, timely communication of shifts and equipment status, and adherence to safety and infection control standards. 1–2 years hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 1–2 years hospital-related experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others and manage time effectively.
• Good documentation and record-keeping abilities.
• BLS certified or ability to maintain BLS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient correctly and obtain relevant history for ECG procedures.
• Respond to STAT requests, code blue, outpatient and inpatient routine requests promptly.
• Rotate to Emergency Department per schedule and prepare patients for procedures.
• Perform Holter Monitor applications/removals and prep for quality studies.
• Troubleshoot ECG issues and reassure anxious or pediatric patients.
• Provide shift-to-shift updates and review ECG equipment status.
• Support physician interpretation with clerical tasks and patient billing.
