Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech for Evanston Hospital to work alternating shifts in a full-time 40 hr/wk schedule, Mon-Fri 11:00 pm–7:30 am with rotating weekends. You will assist with vital signs, EKGs, patient care tasks, and discharge preparation under RN supervision.

Eligible to work in the U.S.; CNA training or nursing clinical rotation is preferred. BLS certification is required, and prior customer service or nursing assistant experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the U.S.; CNA training preferred or nursing clinical rotation in medical/surgical preferred.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required (American Heart Association).
• 1 year of customer service or nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a RN, deliver patient care.
• Assist with vital signs, 12-Lead EKG, bladder ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, discharge preparation.
• Assist with the implementation of a patient-specific care plan.
• Participate in activities essential to the functioning of the patient care unit.
• Contribute to safety outcomes and promote high-quality patient experience.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Care Tech
• Location: Evanston Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Full time-40 hr/wk
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am, rotating weekends
• Required Travel: no

What you will do:

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• License: N/A
• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
