Job summary

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach seeks a Patient Care Technician for Surgery Unit 5B, night shift from ~7pm to 7am. You will assist with daily patient care, help with admissions and discharges, and ensure safety under the guidance of a professional nurse.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS within 90 days. Certifications such as CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or similar are accepted; prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Eligible certifications include CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Paramedic, or EMR/EMS/EMT basics.
• Experience in health care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes and safety practices.
• Observe patients and report changes to the nurse immediately.

Apply today!Patient Care Technicians are unlicensed staff members who are accountable to, and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
