Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

    • Position: Patient Care Technician
    • Location: Evanston and Skokie Hospitals or Glenbrook and Highland Park Hospitals
    • Full Time/Part Time: Resource
    • Hours: rotating shifts based on unit needs Days and Evenings and Nights
    • Weekend Requirement: weekend rotation
    • Required Travel: Evanston and Skokie Hospitals or Glenbrook and Highland Park Hospitals
    • Premium pay such as shift, on call, holiday and more based on an employee?s job

What you will need:

  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred
  • Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred

Minimum Licensure Requirements

Licenses/Certifications

Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association If not current or does not have certification, required to be obtained within the employee?s introductory period (within 90 days of hire date).

What you will do:

  • Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
  • Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
  • Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
  • Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
  • Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience
  • When in the clinical environment, must utilize appropriate patient movement equipment for patient-lifting and transfers when the transfer is a non-emergency situation. In an urgent event, may need to assist with lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • When applicable, wear an N95 mask/PAPR and other PPE.
  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting throughout the shift.
