Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Details:
  • Position: Patient Care Technician - Resource Team - Days and Evenings
  • Location: Evanston and Skokie Hospitals or Glenbrook and Highland Park Hospitals
  • Full Time/Part Time: Resource
  • Hours: Rotating shifts based on unit needs (Days, Evenings, Nights)
  • Weekend Requirement: Weekend rotation
  • Required Travel: Evanston and Skokie Hospitals or Glenbrook and Highland Park Hospitals
Additional Compensation:

Premium pay for eligible employees, including shift, on-call, holiday, and other bonuses based on the employee's role.

Qualifications:
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred
  • Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred
Minimum Licensure Requirements:

Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by American Heart Association. If not current, must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities:
  • Work under RN supervision to deliver patient care
  • Assist with vital signs, EKG, ultrasound, catheter and IV removal, specimen collection, bathing, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, patient admission and discharge, and other delegated tasks
  • Implement patient-specific care plans
  • Participate in activities essential to patient care unit functioning
  • Contribute to safety outcomes and high-quality patient experiences

In clinical settings, utilize appropriate patient movement equipment for non-emergency transfers. Assist with lifting up to 50 pounds in urgent situations. Wear PPE such as N95 masks or PAPR when applicable. Be prepared for physical activities like sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
