Patient Care Technician - Nursing Assistant - Rehabilitation Unit

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32
The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Sign-on bonus: None
• Position: Patient Care Technician – 5E Neuro/Stroke/Tele
• Hourly Pay Range: $17.00 - $27.32. The pay rate is based on experience and qualifications.
• Note: Endeavor Health is reviewing our compensation structure. The new minimum for this role will be $18.84/hour starting May 2025.
• Location: Swedish Hospital, Chicago
• Full Time, 32 hours/week, Evening shift (3 PM - 11:30 PM), every other weekend and rotating holidays required
• No travel required

Requirements:

• CNA certification, completion of an accredited nursing assistant training, or six months of patient care experience, or completion of a nursing clinical rotation
• American Heart Association CPR Certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Effective communication, organization, and confidentiality skills

General Summary:

Provides patient care under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse Manager, including hygiene, vital signs, documentation, and safety procedures, ensuring quality and confidentiality in all tasks.

Additional Functions:

Performs other duties as assigned, adhering to hospital standards and policies.

Patient Care/Age Specific Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Possesses knowledge of procedures specific to patient populations and age groups, with required credentialing for specialty units.

Internal and External Contacts:

• First contact for visitors and medical staff
• Daily contact with patients, nursing staff, and other departments
• Communicates via phone for inquiries
• Engages with relatives and handles patient care equipment

Environment:

• Mostly upright position and movement required
• Lifting up to 20 pounds
• Use of computers
• Exposure to chemicals, airborne diseases, blood, and bodily fluids
• Potential for injury from violent patients
