Your Job:

In this highly technical, fast-paced, and challenging position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients. The Patient Care Technician assists with patient care to support the patient, nursing unit, and professional staff.

Your Job Requirements:
  • Graduate from a certified Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, or Medical Assistant Program
  • Or 1 year experience as a nursing assistant in a comparable healthcare facility
  • Or nursing student who has completed the first semester of the nursing program
  • Or documented military experience as a medic/corpsman
  • Or foreign nursing graduate not currently licensed as a Registered Nurse
  • Or EMT Certification/Paramedic License
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support card required
  • High school diploma or GED required

Job Purpose:

Under the direction of professional staff, assists with patient care to provide support services to patients, nursing units, and staff. Supports the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Includes sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, exposure to hazardous conditions, and working indoors.

Job Roles:

Performs additional functions as trained, including lab specimen handling, patient mobility, and assisting in emergencies. Maintains a clean environment and assists with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers. Responds effectively in emergencies, including CPR, and reports patient risks.
