Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks experienced Patient Care Technicians to join the Staffing Resource Office Float Team, working PRN nights across multiple facilities in Region 3 (Bartow Regional Medical Center, South Florida Baptist Hospital and Winter Haven Hospital).

The role requires BLS certification and relevant acute care or EMT/Paramedic background. Each shift runs 6:45pm–7:15am with occasional weekends and no on-call responsibility.

Qualifications

• Required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network.
• Minimum: 6 months acute care experience or 1 year Skilled Nursing Facility experience; or Nursing Fundamentals completion; or EMT/Paramedic for ER only.
• Preferred: 1 year hospital experience in related field.

BayCare is seeking experienced patient care technicians to join our staffing resource office float team. Must be comfortable floating to multiple hospitals/units in region 3 which includes the following facilities: Bartow Regional Medical Center, South Florida Baptist Hospital and Winter Haven Hospital.

PRN requires 4 shifts in 6-week schedule to include 2 weekend shifts. Holiday commitment 1 summer and 1 winter holiday and 1 hard to fill staffing shift.

Summary:

Provides direct patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Certification includes Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

Minimum requirements include 6 months acute care experience or 1-year Skilled Nursing Facility experience; or completion of Nursing Fundamentals from a Nursing Program; or EMT certification / Paramedic license for ER only.

Preferred - 1 year - Hospital in related field.

Education equivalent experience:

• Required - High School or Equivalent; Required - Technical - Patient Care Technician; or - Technical - Certified Nursing Assistant; or - Technical - Emergency Medical Technician; or - Technical - Licensed Practical Nurse.

Preferred - EMT (Emergency); Preferred - LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
