Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking experienced Patient Care Technicians to join our Staffing Resource Office Float Team. This PRN role requires floating to multiple hospitals in Region 3, including Winter Haven Hospital, Bartow Regional Medical Center, and South Florida Baptist Hospital. Shifts include 6:45am-7:15pm with weekend work occasional.

Provides direct patient care under RN/LPN supervision. Requires BLS and either acute care or SNF experience, EMT/Paramedic for ER.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• 6 months acute care experience or 1 year Skilled Nursing Facility experience; or Nursing Fundamentals from a nursing program; or EMT/Paramedic for ER only.
• Preferred: 1 year hospital experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.
• Floats to multiple hospitals/units within Region 3 as needed.
• Participates in shift coverage, including PRN weekend shifts and holiday commitments.

BayCare is seeking experienced patient care technicians to join our staffing resource office float team.

Must be comfortable floating to multiple hospitals/units in region 3 which includes the following facilities: Bartow Regional Medical Center, South Florida Baptist Hospital and Winter Haven Hospital.

PRN requires 4 shifts in 6-week schedule to include 2 weekend shifts. Holiday commitment 1 summer and 1 winter holiday and 1 hard to fill staffing shift.

Summary:

Provides direct patient care under the direction and supervision of an RN or LPN.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Certification includes Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

Minimum requirements include 6 months acute care experience or 1-year Skilled Nursing Facility experience; or completion of Nursing Fundamentals from a Nursing Program; or EMT certification / Paramedic license for ER only.

Preferred - 1 year - Hospital in related field.

Education equivalent experience:

• Required - High School or Equivalent; Required - Technical - Patient Care Technician; or - Technical - Certified Nursing Assistant; or - Technical - Emergency Medical Technician; or - Technical - Licensed Practical Nurse.

Preferred - EMT (Emergency); Preferred - LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
