Job summary

TriCities Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PRN) to support our nursing team in the Joint Spine area. You will assist with daily patient needs, vital signs, mobility, and personal care under RN supervision.

As a PCT, you will help create a safe, welcoming environment, maintain clean spaces, manage supplies, and communicate compassionately with patients and families to ensure high-quality care. CNA or nursing training and BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• CNA certification in Virginia or completion of Fundamentals of Nursing preferred.
• Previous acute patient care experience in a healthcare facility is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
