Job summary

USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Pre OP/PACU to support inpatient orthopedic services. Under RN supervision, you will assist in daily activities, provide basic nursing care, and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

Ideal candidates hold a CNA license with CPR, have experience or training in patient care charts, and can adapt to surgical procedures and unit protocols. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits and teamwork in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Previous CNA experience preferred.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Safe operation of wheelchair and ability to assist patients.
  • Knowledge of vital signs, personal care and ambulation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
  • Provide basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients.
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment per unit standards.
  • Support pre-op and PACU workflows as directed by supervisor.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and patients.

USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is a specialty inpatient hospital which was established to set a new standard for excellence and patient satisfaction in the delivery of orthopedic and spinal surgery. The Patient Care Tech is responsible to assist patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Job Summary
  • Responsible for helping our surgical patients through their inpatient stay, providing basic care needs, under the direction of a RN.
  • Other general duties as needed by the Manager of the Pre-Op/PACU.
  • Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred
  • Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
  • Patient Interviewing skills
  • Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
  • Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures
  • Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as venipuncture, and EKG
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understands principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
