Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a day shift, full-time Medical-Surgical Patient Care Technician for Pryor, OK. The role involves assisting patients with daily activities, monitoring vitals, collecting specimens, and supporting nursing staff in a 48-faith hospital setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, BLS within 14 days, and ACLS within 60 days. Preferred CNA/PCT certification or current nursing school enrollment with 1 year Med-Surg experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating and other ADLs.
• Observe patients’ progress and report to Registered Nurse or medical staff.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure and record intake and output, assist with range of motion, and draw blood.

• Hillcrest Hospital Pryor is a 48-bed acute care hospital that provides a range of health care services to the community, including emergency services, urology, ENT, gastroenterology, cardiology, orthopedics, general surgery and wound care.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS (within 60 days of hire).

Preferred Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 1 year Med Surg experience.
