Texas Health Resources is hiring a Patient Care Tech for the Center for Diagnostics & Surgery in Plano, TX. This full-time night shift (36 hours/week) focuses on providing direct patient assistance, data collection, and timely communication with the nursing team.

The position requires either a TX CNA or PCT program, EMT or related nursing training, BCLS certification, CPI training within 90 days, and a minimum of one year of applicable experience or equivalent qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• TX CNA or PCT Training Program required at hire.
• EMT certification preferred or equivalent training.
• Nursing student or foreign nurse degree accepted.
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of certification acceptable.
• BCLS required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients according to plan of care.
• Collect patient data and report significant findings to nurse.
• Demonstrate flexibility to schedule and workload changes.
• Maintain and enhance patient care skills.
• Document accurately and appropriately.

Work location: Center for Diagnostics & Surgery – 6020 W Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093. Work hours: Full Time Nights - 36 hours/week; Variable Days from 6:45pm-7:15am.

Medical Surgical Department highlights:

• 18 beds 1:4 ratio fast paced, quick turnover, attention to detail
• Cases include: urology, spine, ENT, ortho, plastics

Requirements

• - High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• - TX CNA or PCT Training Program through NHA, NAHP and NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program required upon hire. Not required to maintain certification when applicable after hire or
• - EMT – Emergency Medical Technician
• - Military experience with medic/medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) required upon hire or
• - Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program required upon hire or
• - 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification required upon hire and
• - Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.
• - CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training required within 90 days of hire.

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care
• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse
• Demonstrates flexibility to changes in schedule and/or workload assignment necessary to meet changing needs of the individual patient or unit
• Maintains and enhances patient care skills
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
