Jackson Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the nursing team during night shifts in the Med Surg unit. Under RN supervision, you will assist with hygiene, safety, nutrition and comfort for a group of patients, while maintaining high standards of care and family communication.
You will perform basic procedures, monitor patient status, and help with mobility, vital signs and routine tasks, ensuring a clean and organized treatment area and adherence to unit policies.

Patient Care Technician is a member of the health care team who performs functions which support the delivery of a single standard of care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, for a group of patients relating to their hygiene, safety, nutrition, elimination and comfort needs.
Job function requires extended standing or walking. Must be able to carry objects weighing 21 to 50 pounds. Able to lift or move objects weighing 51 to 100 pounds with the use of appropriate devices. Jobs in this group require frequent visual acuity to perform activities related to extended use of computers.

Jobs in this group are required to function in a fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent and stressful situations.
