Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA is seeking a Patient Care Technician - Oncology to join the team on a part-time, night-shift schedule. This role supports RN staff with basic nursing care for inpatients and outpatients, working 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced oncology setting.

Under supervision, you will collect and report patient information, document care activities, and help ensure Magnet-designated hospital standards are met.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CNA program, or completion of first semester nursing program, or EMT program completion for hires to Emergency Services.
• Upon hire: California Nursing Assistant Certification License, or California Emergency Medical Technician License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Experience with basic data entry.

Patient Care Technician - Oncology at Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. This position is Part Time and will work 12-hour, Night shifts.

Under general supervision by the RN, the Patient Care Tech II is responsible for providing basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed, within their specified area(s) (see below). The Patient Care Tech II is responsible for collecting and reporting of information to the supervising RN and completion of all patient care related documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: For hires after 10/31/16:
• Completion of a CNA program, or
• Completion of first semester nursing program, or
• EMT program completion for hires to Emergency Services.
• Upon hire: California Nursing Assistant Certification License, or
• Upon hire: California Emergency Medical Technician License
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Experience with basic data entry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Successful completion of dysrhythmia course or ability to pass rhythm recognition exam test, or equivalent educ/experience
• 1 year of acute patient care experience, or
• 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment in providing clerical support related to Provider or Patient documentation or charting.
• Coursework/Training: EKG Training.
