ProMedica Flower Hospital, located in Sylvania, OH, near Toledo, offers a high-quality lifestyle with excellent schools, outdoor activities, and cultural events. The 311-bed campus includes the Hickman Cancer Center, ER Trauma Center, inpatient psychiatric services, Goerlich Center for Alzheimer’s and Dementia, and the Ebeid Center hospice facility.

A Patient Care Tech (PCT), under the supervision of licensed personnel, performs patient care activities and clerical duties, working nights, weekends, and holidays. The PCT assists nursing and medical staff, adhering to policies and standards, and demonstrates professionalism aligned with ProMedica’s mission, vision, and values.

Accountabilities

1. Provide age-appropriate patient care, as directed by licensed staff.
2. Collect and report patient data, noting any deviations or changes.
3. Deliver direct patient care based on patient needs.
4. Assist with patient observation as needed.
5. Maintain safety, confidentiality, and customer service standards.
6. Support clerical tasks such as answering phones, stocking supplies, and managing charts.
7. Document electronic medical records accurately.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and professionalism.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and operate a computer.
• CPR certification prior to direct care, training provided.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a medical setting.
• Certifications such as CNA, STNA, MA, EKG, CPT, ARRT.

Working Conditions

• Use of PPE as required.
• Ability to move around hospital, stand for long periods, and lift light to medium weights.
• Tolerance to environmental factors like dust, chemicals, and bodily fluids.
