Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech at Evanston Hospital. This part-time role (24 hours per week) runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with rotating weekends, reporting to RN staff to deliver patient care.

You will assist with vital signs, EKGs, bladder ultrasound, catheter removal, specimen collection, bathing, mobility, and discharge prep, while supporting a patient care plan and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum one CNA training or nursing clinical rotation completed.
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider (American Heart Association) is required.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred or prior nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care.
• Assist with vital signs, EKG, bladder ultrasound, Foley removal, specimen collection, bathing, ambulation, turning, hourly rounding, glucose, feeding; admit to rooms and prep for discharge.
• Assist with implementing a patient care plan.
• Participate in activities essential to the functioning of the patient care unit.
• Contribute to safety outcomes and high quality patient experience.

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

Position: Patient Care Tech

Location: Evanston Hospital

Full Time/Part Time: Part Time-24 hr/wk

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, rotating weekends

What you will do:

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care


• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse


• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan


• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit


• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred


• License: N/A


• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.


• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
