Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Part Time Patient Care Technician at Evanston Hospital. Hours are Monday–Friday, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm with rotating weekends; location is Evanston Hospital. The role involves assisting with patient care under RN supervision and contributing to safety and high-quality patient experiences.

Eligible to work in the U.S. with CNA training preferred, or nursing clinical rotation in medical/surgical settings.

Qualifications

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred.
• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required.
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care.
• Assist with Vital Signs, 12-Lead EKG, bladder ultrasound, Foley catheter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, glucose, feeding, and admit/discharge preparations.
• Assist with implementing a patient-specific care plan.
• Participate in activities essential to the functioning of the patient care unit.
• Contribute to safety outcomes and promote high quality patient experience.

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Full Time/Part Time: Part Time-20 hr/wk
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, rotating weekends
• Required Travel: no

What you will do:

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• License: N/A
• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
