Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a part‑time Patient Care Tech at Evanston Hospital. The role supports RN‑led patient care on a busy unit, including vital signs, EKGs, urinary procedures and patient mobility, in a collaborative care team.

Responsibilities include assisting with care plans, admissions/discharges, and ensuring safety and a positive patient experience for diverse patients. CNA training and BLS certification are preferred and required respectively.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• C.N.A. training preferred
• One nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required
• 1 year of customer service preferred and/or nursing assistant experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care under the supervision of a RN.
• Assist with vital signs, EKG, bladder ultrasound, Foley catheter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, glucose, feeding, admissions/prep for discharge.
• Assist with implementation of patient-specific care plans.
• Participate in activities essential to the functioning of the patient care unit.
• Contribute to safety outcomes and high-quality patient experience.

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Patient Care Tech
• Location: Evanston Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Part Time-32 hr/wk
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, rotating weekends
• Required Travel: no

What you will do:

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• License: N/A
• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
