Job summary

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist with patient care, daily living activities, and support to nurses. You will help with procedures, monitoring, and patient comfort in a fast-paced, compassionate environment.

The role includes nursing assistant duties such as vital signs, I&O, specimen collection, Foley care, and occasional phlebotomy or EKG tasks. Rotating shifts and a mandatory 7-day training are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Must attend a 7-day mandatory training course before starting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient procedures and activities of daily living.
• Support RN with patient care and monitoring of status.
• Perform nursing assistant duties: vital signs, I&O, specimen collection and Foley care.
• May perform phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG, simple dressings, bladder scan or catheter removals as needed.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards.
