Job summary

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and Basic Life Support certification. Prior hospital experience is preferred but not required; training and supervision are provided to support you in essential nursing support tasks.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• Preferred: one year in hospital environment or similar health services.

Responsibilities

• Observe, document, and communicate significant findings to the Registered Nurse to minimize delays or complications in patient care.
• Document pertinent patient care data on forms or within the electronic chart meeting guidelines and requirements.
• Assist with routine hygienic, nutritional, and comfort needs such as bathing, fluids, feeding, ambulating, and helping with activities of daily living.
• Perform routine clinical tests and procedures: vital signs, measurement of intake/output, and specimen transport as needed.
• Assist physicians and other team members with treatments and procedures as directed.
• Provide unit support: answer phones, transport supplies, assist with patient orientation and environment hygiene.
• May serve as patient sitter under supervision to ensure safety and coordinate with staff during breaks.
• Support CNA/Student Nurse Tech scope of practice under supervision; perform other duties as assigned.
