Job summary

UnityPoint Health's North 6 unit seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide essential nursing assistant support in a dynamic acute care surgical setting. The role includes patient care under RN supervision, assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, and documentation while collaborating with the care team on the 7p-7:30a weekend package.

Qualifications

• CNA certification preferred.
• Must possess and maintain BLS certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Must be 16 years old or older.

Responsibilities

• PCTs will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Documents care including activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support as directed by the RN.
• Must be able to lift, move, position and transport patients.
• Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.
• Team members under 18 may not independently operate mechanical lift equipment.

Shift: Part-Time, 7p-7:30a, Weekend Package

• Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
