UnityPoint Health in Des Moines is seeking a Patient Care Technician at Lutheran Hospital. You will assist nurses with basic patient care, comfort needs, and activities of daily living in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Multiple shifts available; $3,000 sign-on bonus for full-time new hires. Under RN supervision you will document care, lift and position patients, and help ensure safety and compassionate service.

Formación

• CNA certification preferred; EMT-B acceptable.
• BLS certification required within three months of hire.
• Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Responsabilidades

• Provide basic nursing care under RN supervision.
• Assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Document care and patient status as directed by the RN.
• Demonstrate initiative to improve quality of care and safety.

$3,000 Sign-On Bonus for Full-Time New Hires!

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, the Patient Care Tech provides basic nursing care for the personal and comfort needs of the patient.

Units & Shifts Available:

• 3 North Cardiology
  • Shift:
    • Full-Time Days
    • Full-Time Nights
    • Part-Time Evenings
• 2 North Med/Surg
  • Shifts:
    • Full-Time Days
• 3 East Med/Surg
  • Shifts:
    • Part-Time Days, Weekends Only
    • Please note: shifts will include a weekend and holiday rotation

Shift Differentials:

• Shift differential of $2.65/hr for hours worked 3pm-7am
• Weekend shift differential of $2.50/hr for hours worked between Friday 11pm to Monday 7am

Responsibilities

• PCT performs patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
• Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.
• Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.

Qualifications

Experience:

Must be at least 16 years old

Please note: Some positions may require at least 18 years old

License(s)/Certification(s):

• CNA Certification preferred
• Basic CNA Course or EMT-B Certification
• Valid Driver's License when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within three months from date of hire

Minimum Experience:

Comprehensive on-the-job training provided
