Job summary

HonorHealth in Scottsdale is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to join the Medical/Surgical Unit-5EW on the Night shift. The role involves patient care tasks, observation, and accurate charting, across the life span of patients. Weekend and holiday rotations are required, with differential pay as applicable.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and 6 months of recent healthcare experience. CNA or EMT credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• 6 months healthcare experience in last year required.
• 6 months acute care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• CNA or EMT certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care tasks under supervision and per unit care plan.
• Observe and report patient changes to licensed caregiver; document care provided.
• Perform vital signs, intake/output, ambulation and activities of daily living.
• Respond to questions from patients, families, and healthcare team; maintain medical records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is a full-time Night shift working 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 PM-6:30 AM.

We offer self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage. Scheduled workdays may vary, as there are no set or fixed days. Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required in this role. Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse.
• Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
• Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED Required

EXPERIENCE

• Other Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year Required
• 6 months in acute care experience. Preferred

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Certification Preferred
• Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) - License Emergency Medical Tech Preferred
