Job summary

AdventHealth in La Grange, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the night shift team. You will support nursing staff, perform patient care tasks, and help maintain a safe, clean environment. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available for eligible applicants, with benefits from day one and opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements include high school grad, BLS, and CNA/CPCT/A/EMT certifications. 36 hours per week, nights, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School grad is required.
• 1+ applicable PCT experience.
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedules: 36 hours/week; Nights 6:45pm - 7:15am, rotating weekends/holidays.
• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions in clinical emergencies and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Maintains safety by following isolation guidelines, PPE use, handwashing, and safety regulations.
• Assists in delivering patient care as a team member under RN direction and documents procedures per policy.

Job Description

• Schedule: 36 hours/week; Nights 6:45pm - 7:15am, w/rotating weekends and holidays
• Up to a $5,000 sign on bonus for Eligible Applicants
• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Other duties as assigned.
