Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech for Skokie Hospital. This part-time role supports RN-guided patient care, including vital signs, EKG, and basic nursing tasks in a busy unit.

You'll assist with care plans, patient comfort, and discharge readiness while delivering compassionate, safe, high-quality experiences. Previous CNA training or nursing rotation is preferred; BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• CNA training preferred or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Provider is required.
• 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN to deliver patient care.
• Assist with vital signs, EKG, Foley removal, urine samples, and basic patient care tasks.
• Support the implementation of a patient-specific care plan.
• Contribute to a safe, high-quality patient experience and unit functioning.

Hourly Pay Range

$19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Patient Care Tech
• Location: Skokie Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Part Time-28 hr/wk
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, rotating weekends
• Required Travel: no

What you will do

• Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
• Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
• Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
• Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need

• Education: Eligible to work in the U.S., and completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical preferred
• License: N/A
• Certification: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by either American Heart Association required.
• Experience: 1 year of customer service preferred and/or prior nursing assistant experience preferred
