Job summary

Shepherd Center is seeking a Program Technician to assist the care of patients under treatment plans in our rehabilitation setting. You will guide patients through life skills, help with activities of daily living, and support the care team in lifts, transfers, and mobility, ensuring safety and quality care.

The role requires working with adolescents to geriatrics in a dynamic environment; you will coordinate administrative tasks, maintain equipment, and participate in training and departmental

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• BLS certification within three months of hire date.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Guides and monitors patients in planning and performing life skills.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (showering, dressing, transfers, meals).
• Supervises patients on outings and cognitive tasks.
• Supports patient care team with lifts, transport, daily living activities, and wheelchair mobility.
• Maintains equipment in safe condition and reports faults.
• Prepares therapy areas and equipment for sessions and daily start/end.
• Handles patient and department administrative tasks (scheduling, documentation).
• Participates in departmental meetings and inservices; trains new staff and volunteers.
• Performs splint fabrication as applicable; supports safety and compliance.
