Pay Range*:

$21.25/hr - $29.20/hr

Bonus:

$1,500 signing bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.

Position Summary

The Patient Care Technician II is an unlicensed caregiver working under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. This role supports the Oncology/General Surgery Unit by maintaining smooth communication among healthcare practitioners, departments, patients, and visitors. The technician is responsible for accurate, timely documentation in the medical record, assisting with patient admission, transfer, discharge, and basic patient care activities, including data collection, personal hygiene, vital signs, and activities of daily living.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Demonstrate knowledge of clinical and information technology systems.
2. Understand and uphold patient privacy rights, maintaining confidentiality of all sensitive information.
3. Manage and acknowledge patient, family, and significant other expectations to create positive experiences.
4. Follow directions and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
5. Document pertinent patient information accurately in the electronic medical record and notify the nurse of any changes.
6. Safely operate and maintain equipment used in patient care.
7. Be punctual and reliable in attendance.
8. Follow company policies, procedures, and directives.
9. Interact positively and constructively with others.
10. Prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
