Job Description Summary
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes. This role requires working some Friday nights and two other night shifts in our Observation Unit.

Job Summary/Purpose: The Patient Care Tech II reports to the Nurse Manager. Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT II performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
Minimum Training and Education: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. One year of patient care work experience in a healthcare facility, Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT or Paramedic certification, Bachelor’s Degree or enrollment in a healthcare-related program with successful completion of relevant courses preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Must maintain current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors and outdoors, working from elevated areas, confined spaces, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, grasping, manipulating, reaching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Visual and auditory capabilities must be maintained. Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and in a latex-safe environment. Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
