ART Prep & Recovery (P&R) consists of 32 bays located on the 3rd Heart & Vascular Center in the Ashley River Tower (ART). P&R supports inpatient and outpatient procedures in areas such as Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR), Electrophysiology Lab (EP), Adult Cardiac Cath Lab, and ECHO Lab. Procedural operations occur Monday mornings at 6am through Friday at 9pm. The team works rotating shifts (6a-6p, 7a-7p, and/or 9a-9p) and collaborates with Registered Nurses and Heart & Vascular Technicians to oversee standardized prep and recovery tactics. The Patient Care Technician (PCT) reports to the Nurse Manager and, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs multi-skilled activities to support patient-centered care and achieve desired outcomes.
The Patient Care Tech II reports to the Nurse Manager and performs multi-skilled activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care and outcomes.
Ability to perform various physical activities, lift up to 50 lbs., and meet visual, auditory, and tactile sensory requirements. Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and in various environments including confined spaces and outdoor conditions.
