UTMB Health in Galveston, TX, seeks a caregiver to provide basic technical assistance and supportive patient care across assigned areas. The role requires completing one of several approved technician programs and includes a minimum of two years in direct patient care.

Certification as MA, PCT, or CNA at hire is preferred. Training through UTMB Hospital Aide Program is also an option, with opportunities for growth in clinical concepts and nursing education.

Competenze

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent combined with completion of a recognized Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Corpsman, EMT, or UTMB Hospital Aide Training Program.
• Two years of experience in a direct patient care environment may substitute or supplement the formal programs.
• Certification as MA, PCT, or CNA at time of hire is required or expected.
• Enrollment in a recognized School of Nursing with first-semester clinical concepts completed is acceptable.

To provide basic technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of individual patients throughout assigned areas.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

High school or equivalent AND completion of one of the following technical programs:

• Completion of a recognized Nurse Assistant program
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
• Completion of Medical Corpsman program
• Completion of EMT program
• Completion of a UTMB Hospital Aide Training Program
• Two (2) years of experience in a direct patient care environment
• Certified MA, PCT, or CNA at time of hire
• Is enrolled in a recognized School of Nursing and has completed the first semester of education which contains clinical concepts and health assessment or the equivalent.
