GENERAL OVERVIEW:
This job provides direct care to patients and assists with non-direct patient care unit coordination. The incumbent is expected to perform basic nursing procedures related to patient care and comfort in stable conditions, with knowledge of patient needs in the assigned area. Additionally, they assist the RN in caring for acutely ill patients, practice medical asepsis, respect patient dignity and privacy, and maintain objectivity during patient care. They must adhere to hospital policies and procedures, respond appropriately in emergencies, maintain the patient environment, and document care accurately in the electronic medical record. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, receiving specific work assignments from the Charge Nurse or Care Team Leader, and demonstrates effective time management. They also perform duties related to patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
