Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a dedicated nursing assistant to provide direct patient care in a stable unit. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and support the RN in caring for acutely ill patients.

Responsibilities include accurate documentation, preparing the patient environment, and coordinating admissions, discharges, and transfers under supervision. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and completion of two weeks of training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as activities of daily living, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, intake/output, meal consumption, height/weight, blood glucose testing, and more.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives including bedside shift report and hourly rounding to promote safety and cleanliness.
• Accurate documentation of vital signs, weights, I&O, restraints, specimens and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
