Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination on inpatient units in Pittsburgh.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will perform basic nursing procedures, document in the EMR, assist with admissions, discharges and transfers, maintain safety and cleanliness, and participate in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Acute care experience within last 3 years (preferred).
• ASN/BSN enrollment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct patient care including activities of daily living, vital signs, and documentation in EMR.
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment and participate in unit activities.
• Report changes to nursing staff and document appropriately in the EMR.
• Participate in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program
