Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a healthcare support role to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination. The incumbent will perform basic nursing procedures for patients in stable condition and support acutely ill patients under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include documenting care, adhering to policies, and participating in admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• CPR certification (AHA).
• Act 34, Act 33, Act 73 background clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents direct patient care and activities (ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, I&O).
• Performs patient care activities and ensures safety and comfort.
• Documents vitals and treatments accurately; reports changes to RN.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
