Job summary

Emory Healthcare in Atlanta seeks a Nursing Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and licensed practical nurses. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, transporting patients and specimens, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.

Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent, BLS required, and either CNA license in Georgia or current enrollment in a nursing program with two clinical rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• CNA license in Georgia or current enrollment in a nursing program with 2 clinical rotations are acceptable options.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN.
• Communicates with patients, families and care team.
• Maintains unit and hospital competencies and participates in performance improvement programs.
• Assists in emergencies and ensures hygiene, comfort and rest are provided.
• Operates monitors and equipment, records patient intake/output, and assists with patient transfers.
• Transports patients and specimens as needed and contributes to admission/ discharge processes.
• May participate in research projects and assists with orientation of nursing support staff.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

BLS certification

CNA license OR nursing program enrollment with 2 clinical rotations
