Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA invites applications for a Patient Care Technician on the Night shift in the Medicine Unit. This role supports licensed nurses by delivering delegated care and maintaining patient safety and comfort.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and clinical program completion (CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or Sentara-approved). It offers base pay with potential shift differentials and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required or equivalent.
• Graduate of CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or Sentara partner programs or equivalent clinical program.
• Experience as PCT, Nursing Assistant, or in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated aspects of nursing care under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient mobility.
• Performs blood draws, EKGs, and essential patient measurements.
• Assist with Foley care, I/O monitoring, and patient ambulation.

Shift: Nights : - 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

The Patient Care Technician is an unlicensed staff member who is accountable to and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care.

One of the following programs is acceptable for education: Graduate of Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic, or current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT) or current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.

The Medicine Unit - 4 James is looking for qualified nurses who will provide care to acute and chronic care patients with a variety of comorbidities from the age of 18 years of age and up, with a special love for our senior population. We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.93 - $27.41 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
