DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician who is looking to give life in an outpatient dialysis center. You can make a significant difference in the lives of patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. Do you want to deliver care with empathy and compassion—just as you'd want your own care to be?

If you haven't considered Nephrology before, this is an opportunity to explore it.

Joining DaVita as a Patient Care Technician (PCT) offers an exciting start in healthcare! With paid, extensive training, you'll develop the skills needed to care for patients and connect with healthcare professionals across your region. After training, you'll join a team of nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other PCTs to provide patient care. It's more than a job—it's a career driven by passion and purpose.

DaVita—meaning "giving life" in Italian—is committed to quality service for patients, partners, and teammates. Our mission is to be the Provider, Partner, and Employer of Choice.

Our PCTs find fulfillment in their roles. We offer clear career advancement paths through our Clinical Ladders program. With DaVita's Bridge to your Dreams program, teammates in good standing for six months can receive tuition assistance to pursue nursing degrees and other certifications. We also provide training to become Facility Administrators or Regional Operations Directors. Your growth depends on your performance and motivation.

Key details about this position:

  • No dialysis experience required.
  • Training may occur at a facility or training clinic other than your assigned clinic.
  • Potential to float to various clinics during and after training.
  • Flexible schedule required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What you can expect:

  • Direct patient care, providing safe, comfortable dialysis treatments.
  • Care for multiple patients.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis, including measuring stats, observing, and machine setup. Exposure to blood and needles is involved.
  • Build long-term relationships with patients receiving treatment approximately three times a week and educate them on kidney dialysis topics.
  • Work within a team of clinicians, including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and leadership, under RN supervision.

What we provide:

  • Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, PTO cash out.
  • Support for you and your family: resources, counseling, Headspace access, backup care, parental leave, pet insurance, and more.
  • Paid training.

Minimum requirements:

  • Desire to care for others in healthcare.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfort working around blood and needles.
  • Ability to handle acid or bicarb mixing.
  • Physical and mental stamina for long hours (including shifts over 12 hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics.
  • Healthcare certifications (e.g., CHT, CNA, CMA, Phlebotomy) are a plus.

DaVita is a leader in clinical excellence, meeting or exceeding CMS standards. We expect our teammates to commit to improving patient health through clinical goals and quality initiatives.
