Job summary

Sanford Health in the United States is hiring a Patient Care Technician on a unit where you may function as CNA. The role supports patient care and daily living activities under RN or LPN supervision, with shift flexibility and a focus on teamwork and patient comfort.

The PCT provides vital statistics, assists with basic treatments, and helps with daily living tasks, ensuring safety and respectful care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred. Maintains required competencies and certifications.
• If working in Wisconsin (WI), must be on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry with current work eligibility or a student nurse enrolled at a school approved by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing, who has completed basic nursing course and 16 hours of clinical experience.
• If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a CNA, must be on the North Dakota Nurse Aide Registry within four months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
• Administer basic health care and assist with daily living activities, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and meal needs.
• Prepare patient treatment areas, clean medical equipment, and dispose of biomedical waste.
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
• Provide one-on-one care to patients when necessary for safety and care quality.
