Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Nursing Support/Patient Care Assistant at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA. The 32-hour weekly schedule runs 3pm–11:30pm, with every other weekend and holiday required.

You will provide professional and nonprofessional nursing care under physician orders and support daily living activities. The role requires a High School diploma and BLS certification, with preference for 1 year of healthcare experience or CNA certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• One year of healthcare experience and nursing service experience preferred.
• Certification as patient care assistant or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a nurse, performs ADLs and patient care.
• Prepares patient rooms for admission.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for the patient.
• Prioritizes patient care according to nursing direction and discharge plan.
• Transports patient to procedures/discharge within/from hospital as directed.
• Cleans and operates equipment safely and correctly.
• Prepares patients for meals, assists with meals or feeds as necessary.
• Performs technical tasks (glucometer use, lift devices, specimen collection).
• Collects, records and reports accurate patient data in a timely manner.
• Performs patient sitter duties and maintains continuous observation as guidelines.
• Provides clerical support as needed.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

BLS certification
