Qualifications

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Patient Care Tech - Emergency Department- DaysPosition Highlights:
  • Position: Patient Care Tech
  • Location: Skokie Hospital
  • Part-time: 24 hours per week
  • Hours: Day shift(7am-7:30pm) w/ rotating weekends
What you will do:
  • Flow of work and character of duties involves normal mental, visual, auditory attention much or all of the time with manual dexterity is required for sustained periods of time.
  • Requires visual acuity adequate to assess patients and read/record patient charts.
  • Requires auditory acuity adequate to converse with patients, members of the healthcare team and coworkers who are wearing masks.
  • Potential for exposure to blood, body fluids and other potentially infectious materials, chemicals and other hazardous conditions which may pose a health risk.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet patient care needs.
  • When in the clinical environment, must utilize appropriate patient movement equipment for patient-lifting and transfers when the transfer is a non-emergency situation.
  • In an urgent event, may need to assist with lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • When applicable, wear an N95 mask/PAPR and other PPE.
  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting throughout the shift.
What you will need:
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred
  • Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred
  • Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association If BLS certification is not current or does not have certification, required to be obtained within the employee's introductory period (within 90 days of hire date)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
  • Basic Computer skills
