Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Patient Care Tech - Emergency Department - Days
Position Highlights:
  • Position: Patient Care Tech
  • Location: Evanston Hospital
  • Full-time: 36 hours per week
  • Hours: Day shift (7am-7:30pm & 9am-9:30pm) w/ rotating weekends
What you will do:
  • Perform duties involving mental, visual, auditory attention, and manual dexterity for sustained periods.
  • Assess patients visually and read/record patient charts accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare team, and coworkers, including those wearing masks.
  • Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, hazardous chemicals, and other infectious materials.
  • Work under pressure to meet patient care needs.
  • Utilize patient movement equipment for non-emergency transfers.
  • Assist with lifting up to 50 pounds in urgent situations.
  • Wear appropriate PPE, including N95 masks/PAPR when applicable.
  • Perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
What you will need:
  • Eligible to work in the US.
  • Completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred.
  • Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred.
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers (American Heart Association). If not current, must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, teamwork, prioritization, and ability to follow instructions.
  • Basic computer skills.
