Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Warren, MI is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department on a 36-hour, midnight shift with an alternating weekend schedule. The role performs basic clinical and non-clinical patient care under supervision and contributes to a fast-paced, team-oriented ED culture.

Required education is a High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of relevant experience; BLS Provider within 30 days of hire is required, Nurse Aide credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Aide credential from Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred.

• Assists patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff; documents necessary records.
• Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

Job description

The culture in the ED is a team approach. They must have willingness to work as a team with the expectation of being able to adjust to a high acuity and fast-paced department. Every other weekend and holiday are required, along with hard to fill days.

Shift: Midnights 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, alternating weekend schedule

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. - Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES REQUIRED:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES PREFERRED:

• Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred. Any issuing authority accepted.
