Patient Care Technician Delaware (Finance)



Under the day-to-day direction of the on-duty nurse practitioner/physician assistant, the general purpose of the patient care technician (PCT) position is to maximize patient flow through the clinic while providing a stellar patient experience. Responsible for performing all appropriate administrative tasks, including electronic health record (EHR) documentation, in accordance with company policy. Demonstrates the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent administrative, communication, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Excellent customer service and task management skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in retail, customer service, or healthcare
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Ability to maintain a safe, survey-ready healthcare environment
  • Greeting patients and visitors professionally
  • Maintaining clinic cleanliness and organization
  • Answering questions following HIPAA guidelines and consulting with providers as needed
  • Managing patient flow using scheduling and kiosk systems
  • Completing registration and verifying patient identity
  • Discussing payment options and collecting payments
  • Scanning documents and alerting providers for scanning needs
  • Assisting with patient escort, vital signs, and history collection
  • Providing guidance on registration, wait times, and services
  • Handling phone inquiries and callbacks
  • Preparing supplies and shipping specimens
  • Traveling to clinics if designated as a float
  • Assisting with specimen collection and reporting labs as per protocols
  • Performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
