Job summary

The CNA role at BJC HealthCare supports licensed nurses by providing direct patient care and ensuring a safe environment for patients. You will collect vital signs, assist with ADLs, and document care activities, working under supervision to reduce risk and promote family-centered care.

Hours are 40 per week, days 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with no holidays or weekends. You may float to other Siteman locations as needed to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Administers or assists patients with ADLs, performs vital signs, intake & output, falls and pressure ulcer prevention, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy, or point of care testing.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education; documents care activities with correct medical terminology; acts as 1:1 safety sitter as needed.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet patient needs.
